Wine, Women, and Shoes (WWS) recently celebrated its 13th year as the premier event supporting survivors of domestic violence. This four-hour afternoon of fashion, fun, and fine wine and spirits benefited YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee.

Held at the Omni Nashville Hotel, the sold-out event drew over 600 women, with tickets selling out two months in advance—a big thank you to co-chairs Roxianne Bethune and Meredith Risner for their hard work and success. Presenting sponsor, Regions Bank, for the 12th consecutive year, deserves a great deal of praise as well.

WWS remains a beloved sip, shop, and support affair for women of all ages, offering a diverse range of activities. Guests enjoyed a glass of bubbly upon arrival, a WWS magazine cover photo op, a "Glitter Bar," and a "Fairy Hair" booth. Shoppers explored 11 marketplace vendors and sampled drinks at “Sip Stations,” which offered rum, bourbon, and whisky, along with charcuterie nibbles. The “Wall of Wine” sold out its 300 bottles halfway through, and the “Key to the Closet” also sold out with 250 chances to win $10,000 worth of prizes. The Dress for Success Fashion Sale raised over $10,000 for YWCA’s Weaver Domestic Violence Center and programs.

The lively luncheon featured the co-chairs and CEO Sharon Roberson thanking attendees, calling them the “sheroes” of the day. As the silent auction wrapped up, the live auction kicked off with excitement, starting with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and chocolate-covered strawberries, raising $2,000 in seconds. This set the stage for bidding on thrilling trips and experiences.

Event emcee Torri Yates-Orr, an Emmy-nominated public historian, guided the program and announced the winners of the Best in Shoe and Key to the Closet award, Cameron Simmons and Lesly Devereaux. The Stand Up For Change donation bidding saw an enthusiastic crowd competing to make important contributions.

Thanks to WWS, last year, the YWCA provided 15,252 nights of safety to women, children, and pets fleeing domestic violence. As Board member Marcia Masulla said, “This celebration is the Super Bowl for women!” We couldn’t agree more.
